Mayor Kimberly Ann Cobos-Cawthorne
Kimberly Ann Cobos-Cawthorne is a lifelong resident and homeowner in the City of Montebello. She was educated at Our Lady of Miraculous Medal elementary school and Cantwell Sacred Heart of Mary High School and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from California State University, Los Angeles, as well as a Master of Arts Degree in Forensic Psychology from Argosy University of Orange. She is currently a doctoral candidate at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology of Los Angeles in Clinical Psychology.
Kimberly contributes her time directly to her beloved City of Montebello by serving on its City Council as its current Mayor. She was originally elected to the council in November of 2018. She volunteers community service hours with the Montebello Fire Department where she was previously recognized and awarded a Certificate of Commendation in 1999 by the former City Mayor and a Community Service Award for Outstanding Performance while serving as an explorer. Beyond her roles within the city, Kimberly dedicates considerable spare time to community service and engagement. She is an active member of the Montebello American Legion Auxiliary and Elks Club, which are organizations that collaborate to help those in need within the local community. She is also an American Red Cross volunteer and often assists with organizing local blood drives and instructing CPR and First Aid courses.
Kimberly has a passion for helping others. Her professional experience includes working with the Los Angeles County Sheriffs, Santa Ana Police Department Foundation, and In Home Support Services (IHSS). She has a professional background in marketing development, promotions, and sales. Her multi-faceted professional and volunteer experiences and engagement efforts contribute directly to improving the quality of life for all Montebello families and residents.
As the current City Mayor, Kimberly diligently looks after taxpayer monies to ensure they are allocated efficiently and acts to oversee the public safety of all residents, business owner,s and City staff. She formulates decisions that serve the best interests of Montebello residents and community members. She actively advocates for City staff in order to make sure they are supported and provided with the necessary tools needed to help Montebello operate effectively and efficiently. Kimberly believes firmly in the future potential of Montebello.
